Davies Collison Cave
Jonathan is currently a Trainee Patent Attorney at Davies Collison Cave, an intellectual property law firm in Singapore. He earned his PhD from NAIST, where he specialised in CRISPR-Cas9 technology to develop organ-deficient mouse models. Following his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research in neurobiology at the National University of Singapore and later served as Deputy Laboratory and Technical Director at Cordlife Group Limited. At DCC, Jonathan focuses on drafting and prosecuting patents in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, while staying abreast of advances in molecular tools and stem cell engineering. He is also pursuing a qualification as a registered Singapore Patent Agent. As a core member of the Malaysian NAIST Alumni Association Secretary Team, Jonathan actively supports alumni engagement, aiming to foster cross-border talent exchange and business development opportunities between Singapore and the broader NAIST community.

Benedict Lian is a Research Fellow working in DUKE-NUS Medical School in Singapore. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Science from NAIST in 2021 in the field of Molecular Immunology.

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)
Vasagi is the Manager of Standard Design and Innovation within the Oil Palm Smallholder Division. At RSPO, she oversees multi-stakeholder initiatives critical to the effective design, development, revision, interpretation, and maintenance of the RSPO Independent Smallholder Standard and its related procedures and systems. Her primary goal is to promote the adoption of sustainable oil palm cultivation practices among small-scale farmers. Vasagi earned her PhD in Biological Sciences from NAIST in 2017, following which she pursued postdoctoral research at the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology. With a strong background in genetic and molecular research, her work focuses on sustainable oil palm field research. She is deeply passionate about continuing her journey in the oil palm industry to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. As a member of the MNAA Secretariat Team, she is also dedicated to supporting alumni through networking and knowledge sharing to foster collective growth.
