Lit Chein is currently a member of both the R&D and Business Development teams at a publicly listed, clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Tokyo. He earned his MSc and PhD in Biological Science from NAIST between 2014 and 2019. Since then, he has held roles in research and development, project management, and business development within Japan’s pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. With his cross-functional industry experience and deep understanding of both academic and corporate environments in Japan, he brings a valuable perspective to building a strong, globally connected alumni network.

Dr. Mohd. Ruzeiny Bin Kamaruzzaman

Dr. Mohd Ruzeiny Bin Kamaruzzaman is the Director of Corporate Strategy & Regulatory Affairs at MyDigital ID. He specializes in Government-Public Policymaking, Cybersecurity and Resilience, and Leadership and Governance of Digital and Emerging Technologies. He earned his PhD in Engineering from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan, with impactful research on cybersecurity in air traffic control systems, particularly ADS-B spoofing mitigation. His current work focuses on advancing digital identity, strengthening governance, and enhancing resilience in emerging technologies. Dr. Ruzeiny has shared his expertise at international platforms, including the GovInsider conference, where he spoke on MyDigital ID’s role in shaping trusted and seamless digital services.

Dr. Yue Keong Choon earned his Ph.D. in the Cancer Cell Signaling Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Kazuhiro Shiozaki, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer biology. Following his return to Malaysia, he entered the biopharmaceutical industry, where he has been actively engaged in research and development, with a particular emphasis on downstream processing and analytical method development.
With the combined expertise in both academic research and industrial applications, he is passionate about fostering collaborations between industry stakeholders and event organizers to advance scientific events, knowledge exchange, and innovation within Malaysia’s rapidly evolving life sciences ecosystem.

Division of Biological Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST)
Chek Min Fey is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Biological Science at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), where he earned his Ph.D. in Structural Biology in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Toshio Hakoshima. His research focuses on molecular biology, protein structure, and microbial biotechnology, with a particular interest in enzymes involved in sustainable development – enzymes catalyzing bioplastic synthesis and plastic degradation. As the chairperson of the working group to establish a formal governing body for the MNAA, Chek is responsible for uniting the alumni and setting the direction and timeline for the organization’s development. It is inspiring for him to discover so many like-minded alumni who share a common vision of building MNAA as a platform to contribute to the betterment of future generations in both Malaysia and Japan.
